Course Overview

About this course

A blockchain is a shared ledger that many parties can trust without a single central operator. Beyond cryptocurrency, it is explored for supply chains, credentials, record keeping and digital ownership.

The course explains the cryptography and consensus mechanisms behind blockchains, compares public and permissioned networks, introduces Ethereum and smart contracts written in Solidity, and teaches how to judge whether blockchain genuinely fits a problem. It does not provide investment or trading advice.

Learning Objectives

By the end of Blockchain, learners should be able to:

  • Explain hashing, digital signatures and Merkle trees
  • Compare consensus mechanisms such as proof of work and proof of stake
  • Describe Bitcoin and Ethereum architecture
  • Write, test and deploy simple Solidity smart contracts on test networks
  • Evaluate blockchain use cases critically

FAQs

Does the course teach cryptocurrency trading?

No. The course is about how blockchain technology works and how to build with it. It does not provide trading or investment advice.

Do I need real cryptocurrency for labs?

No. Smart contract labs use local development chains and public test networks, which use test tokens with no real value.

What is the difference between Blockchain and Web3 courses?

Blockchain covers foundations, consensus and smart contracts. Web3 focuses on building decentralised applications with wallets and front ends.

What is the duration and schedule of this course?

Duration, batch timings and format are shared when you enquire, because they depend on whether you choose a short-term, long-term, weekend or training format. Contact the team by phone, WhatsApp or email for current batches.

Is placement assistance available?

Learners can use AIIT Roorkee's placement assistance, which includes career counselling, CV preparation, LinkedIn development, interview preparation and mock interviews. Placement assistance is career preparation support and does not constitute a guarantee of employment or placement.
